Europe has “solved” its natural-gas crisis for this winter, and prices are bound to fall soon, one analyst predicted.
European natural-gas prices could drop by half in the next six months as consumers use less of it and countries draw on large supplies held in storage, according to a new Goldman Sachs report that challenges the conventional wisdom on the path of prices. That said, Goldman analyst Samantha Dart also sees prices rebounding by next summer to once again trade near current levels as European countries work to replenish their natural-gas storage tanks.
